Sinéad is a paediatric Speech & Language Therapist with extensive experience working with children with complex communication needs. Sinéad has worked in Ireland within multi-disciplinary child development centres. Here she gained vast experience working with children with a variety of communication needs including those associated with Autism, Down Syndrome & Cerebral Palsy. Sinéad has a special interest in working with non-verbal/minimally verbal children. She is passionate about using Alternative & Augmentative Communication (AAC) to support language development.
Sinéad is committed to continuous professional development and is trained in Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS), Hanen ‘It Takes Two To Talk’, AAC and the Diagnostic Interview for Social Communication Disorders (DISCO). She believes in the importance of working collaboratively with the child and key people in the child’s life.
Sinéad recently completed a MSc in Personal & Management Coaching to support her ability to encourage and empower families. Sinéad graduated from University College Cork (UCC), Ireland in 2011 with a BSc (Hons) in Speech & Language Therapy. She returned to UCC in 2017 to lecture and support the clinical skill development of student Speech & Language Therapists. Sinéad is a member of the Irish Association of Speech & Language Therapists.Back to Team
