Jemma is a pediatric speech and language therapist with six years experience delivering comprehensive speech and language therapy within schools, centres and nurseries in the UK.
She is passionate about working with children who have communication challenges, believes in building their confidence, and in finding motivating and creative ways to engage them. She carries out assessments and interventions with the child at its core and builds positive relationships with families, school staff and other professionals to ensure a collaborative team approach.
Her experience includes working with children with attention/listening difficulties, speech delays/disorders, social communication difficulties and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Developing and updating her knowledge and skills as a practitioner is important to her. She has attended numerous trainings including Makaton, Cued Articulation, Colourful Semantics and the Shape Coding Model. She also has experience in working from the Nuffield Dyspraxia programme, The Social Thinking Curriculum, TEACCH and Attention Autism.
Jemma was awarded a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Speech and Language Therapy in 2010, at City University London and has since have obtained registrations with the Health and Care Professions Council and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists in the UK.Back to Team
